Q: What should I expect from a maternity portrait session?
The maternity session is the perfect way to capture the images of your beautiful baby bump. It is a limited time opportunity to capture the exciting moments of the final days of your pregnancy. You can only do a maternity photo session during the pregnancy so do not delay it.
Almost all of the maternity sessions we photographed in the past are with a husband or a partner or with one or more of the older siblings. In addition to your clothing, we usually use a combination of fabrics wrapped around your body to cover or uncover your belly, different backdrops, black, white, nature and more. We encourage you to bring different outfits to your session preferably dresses, black and white bras and underwear, bring anything that you want to be included in the session including flowers, props or special clothing such as scarves, shawls or veils.
If you plan to come with many family members, selecting solid coloured clothes is a good idea.
If you come with your partner, he can bring different clothing too, solid colours preferably, long or short sleeved shirts and t-shirts are fine.
Q: What is the best time during my pregnancy to schedule a maternity session?
The best time is between 31 and 36 weeks from the start of the pregnancy. We encourage you to schedule 2-3 sessions one at 20-24 weeks and another at 31-36 weeks or you can do one every month and the last one with your newborn baby, the last one no later than 14 days after you give birth.
We offer a free beautiful fine art canvas for your bump-to-baby experience if you book a minimum 4 session, e.g., 2 maternity sessions + 2 baby sessions.
Q: Any tips on hair and makeup preparation?
Make-up should be light and natural looking. A light foundation or blush to even out skin tones is perfect for a maternity session. Avoid applying too much eyeliner or eye shadow as they tend to appear very dark on your photos later. Hair should be fixed so you are comfortable with it during the session. We will be posing you in different ways so having a stray hair on your face or shoulders would make you constantly clear it away and this tends to be distracting during the photo shoot. You can either go to a stylist before the shoot or fix your hair on your own.
We can provide a hair stylist and makeup artist recommendation if you need one.
Q: Can we schedule an evening , morning or weekend session?
Yes. We are able to schedule sessions from 8am to 10pm even later than that if necessary, same times are available durring the weekend.
Q: Can I reschedule my session if required?
Sure. We would appreciate if you provide as much notice as possible. This will allows us to reuse the time slot for another customer. Unfortunately, we can not reschedule more than two times.
Be advised that cancellations less than 24 hours prior to your session may result in a losing your booking fee(deposit). Plese call as soon as possible.
Q: What is required to book a photo session?
At the time of booking, we will need you to provide a name, email address, a phone number, some details regarding your photo session, plus £30 or £50 deposit. On the day of the session, you will have to pay the balance in cash or through PayPal or Bank Transfer, we don’t accept card payments yet.
